Tsiknaris Hair

Monday the 12th of June saw Australia’s leading creatives take some time to celebrate the best of
the best at The Star, Sydney at the Australian Hairdressing Industry Awards gala night. Acclaimed
Brisbane hairdressers Bill Tsiknaris and Shae Tsiknaris of Tsiknaris Hair in New Farm have both been
awarded- taking home AHIA Photographic Collection Of The Year 2023 and AHIA Master Cutter of
the Year 2023 respectively.

   
Launched in 2012 by esteemed trade visionaries Mocha Publishing, the AHIA’s are celebrating their
12th year as the trusted national award platform which provides a benchmark of excellence across
both specialist and individual Educational and Business categories and the third year that the
Creative categories have been given their own awards program.
The event was held as part of the annual HAIR FESTIVAL over the King’s Birthday long weekend, an
exciting new initiative which maintains the legacy of the industry’s much loved and most celebrated
hair event, Hair Expo, which was sadly cancelled in 2020.
Working out of Tsiknaris Hair, this is a family affair with Bill and Shae Brother and Sister In Law and
together they are a Brisbane based hairdressing powerhouse, creating trend focused looks and
styles for New Farm’s who’s who. Tsiknaris Hair is a family affair for these two renowned
hairdressers who are also Brother and Sister in Law. Bill created Tsiknaris Hair back in 1994 and has
since become a household name in Brisbane fashion and hairdressing circles, regularly spotted
backstage at fashion shows, campaign and editorial shoots and working with VIP’s. He has an
impressive list of accolades including 2022 AHIA QLD Hairdresser of the Year, 2020 and 2019 AHFA
Avant Garde Hairdresser Of The Year and is also elite professional hair brand Alfaparf Milano’s
Global Ambassador for Australia- testament to his global reputation. Director Stylist Shae has been
in the industry for over 20 years and is known for her expertise with both cutting and straightening,
cementing her reputation by taking out this award for the second year running.
